Animal Crackers Exclusive: Down on the Farm Baby Shower

I loved putting together this "Down on the Farm" baby shower for my little sister.  The theme was a no brainer since she is a true blue country girl. I can't take all the credit for this one, my ever so talented mother had an equal hand.

These little baskets were perfect for the veggies!

I tied the napkins and utensils with pages from vintage childrens' farm books.

Little piggy planter doubles as a mini fork holder.

Centerpiece for the kids table was given to the mommy-to-be for her nursery decor.
Farm books were also used as tags for the gifts.

cupcakes and wrappers that doubled as sunflowers

 Table centerpieces
favors were "baby Braden tulip bulbs" for guests to plant now.

vintage farm books were used as decor on the tables.

Baby Braden's older cousins...he's gonna have his hands full with this group of girls!
Vintage farm toys were used as decor.
Farm print that will also hang in the nursery.

 Gifts for Games

See you at the next party!

Animal Crackers Exclusive: Dora Party

My little Ellie celebrated her 3rd birthday this weekend!  She decided  she wanted to have a Dora Party.  As many of you know, I am not a fan of commercial parties, but alas, Dora and Diego are the main people in her life besides her mom, dad, brother and sister.  I really had no choice in the matter.  Here are the highlights.  I wish I would have been able to get better pics, but a house full of 3 year olds tend to put a rush on things:)

The Backdrop was simple!  Just yellow, orange and pink streamers.

My first attempt at "color flow" (with my mother's help!)
I ordered the favor bags from Etsy http://www.etsy.com/shop/designsbyLH.   I then glued the faces on the backs using foam.  The backpack for the girls and rescue pack for the boys!

Super excited to find these!

I cut the Dora characters out of books I bought at a thrift store for .69 cents.  They always make great toppers!

Everything looks good on skewers!
I made these cake stands from plates I found at Hobby Lobby!
This Lama hung out with my all week for great color inspiration.  I was really sad to see him beaten to death:(
The kids had maps they had to follow to find some treasures.  They had to.....
run through the butterfly garden.....
over the bridge.....
and down the slide!  It was chaotic fun!

Swiper even made an appearance!  The kids were quick to stop him!

Everyone had a blast!! This was one of my favorite parties.
Pictures do not show the salsa chicken and margaritas!!!
